JAHANPANAH CLUB - THE GENESIS
Nestled in the vicinity of the historical Tughlakabad Fort and the enchanting walking trail of Jahanpanah City Forests lies the quaint building of Jahanpanah Club.

As you enter the premises, the sight of the red brick masonry, cris-crossed by bold black cross beams, majestically capped by the sloping grey slate stone roofs is truly awe inspiring. Hold your breath! Once you come inside the building and have had a walk around the Club you cannot but admire its rustic interiors and marvel at the space utilization from basement to second floor.

The genesis of this marvelous building goes back to the year 1984, when some like minded residents of Greater Kailash II and Masjid Moth felt the necessity of having a common forum to facilitate the social, recreational and entertainment needs of the residents of the area and develop esprit de corps amongst them. With this momentous first step, began the arduous journey of fund raising and acquisition of land. Motivating and convincing residents of the area for funds and tackling DDA and other numerous civil agencies for land and other clearances.

The foundation stone of the Club building was laid on Dec 11, 1994, by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, then Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce, Govt.of India. It took about four years to complete the construction and install various facilities. Jahanpanah Club was finally operationally inaugurated on 16th July, 1998, by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, then Hon’ble Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Communication, Govt. of India.

Today the Club enjoys the patronage of more than 2000 members.
